PRED Department Overview

The Panchayat Raj Engineering Department (PRED) is an engineering wing of PR & RD Department. The objective of PRED is to design, execute and maintain needed Infrastructure facilities in rural areas for the economic development of rural people in Telangana. The Government takes up works under the following programmes
• Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) - This is a flag ship program of the Government of Telangana covering 7449.50 kms of rural roads. Under HAM Program, it is proposed to provide Connectivity to Unconnected Gram Panchayats, GP to Mandal HQ and to District HQ. Up-gradation, strengthening and renewal of rural roads are also taken under this program. In HAM program, 40% of Cost will be borne by State Government & 60% by Concessionaire (obtaining loan from banks). Amount borne by Concessionaire (60%) will be paid back by the State Government in 30 Annuities for a period of 15 years. Maintenance of these roads will also be taken up by the Concessionaire till the last payment.
• Construction of Rural Roads (CRR) - State Plan grant: Construction of New roads and up gradation of existing roads up to BT /CC Standards is taken up under this programme.
• Maintenance of Rural Roads (MRR) - State Non Plan grant: Repairs to existing roads and renewal of existing BT roads is taken up under this programme.
• Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY): Centrally Sponsored Scheme with 60% GOI share & 40% State share for providing Rural Road Connectivity.
• Buildings - The Government is sanctioning buildings for the PR department for offices of MPP, ZPP, PR and other offices like Integrated Office Complex in various districts are sanctioned as per the requirement on priority basis.

Our Vision

The Panchayat Raj Engineering Dept is in-charge of providing infrastructure facilities in Rural villages where around 70% of population are residing.

To provide infrastructure facilities in rural areas
To connect all unconnected habitations with all weather roads
Periodic and routine maintenance of all existing roads to prevent deterioration due to wear and tear and provide smooth ride to road users
Black Topping (BT) all roads connecting Gram Panchayats to Mandal headquarters.

Objectives

The objective of PRED is to plan, design, execute and maintain needed infrastructure facilities in rural area like:

Construction and maintenance of rural roads including village internal roads
Construction of bridges and other cross drainage works, checkdams, etc
Construction of buildings such as ZPP, MPP, GP, Community halls etc., under various programs
